This year the Easter ski holidays were disappointing with some of the worst snow on record in Europe. A snow drought in January and February and an exceptionally warm March saw the lower altitude ski resorts fighting to maintain the slopes. The higher altitude ski resorts faired better but the unusually warm climate still left ski resorts with limited snow and some south facing slopes icy.
After the last three years where the Easter skiing has been some of the best of the ski season, its unfortunate that such an extremely poor Easter this year will last long in the memory and dampen demand in the future. Our view is that such is cyclical and we therefore look forward to a bumper Easter ski season next year, only time will tell if we are right!
